So Friday Spudlette rolled over her first intentional roll, from her stomach to her back. Then, just to prove it, she did it again a couple nights later in the crib. Friday was also her first intentional laugh at me. Admittedly, I am hilarious.

When I want her to fall asleep, I sing "Stray Cat Strut". I don't know how these things happen...

So it turns out that the best way to prove you are gay is to be homophobic. I totally no way ever never would have thought that!

Anyone needing to understand the whole magazine cover outrage can do no better than watch the Daily Show's twin montages of first cable news outlets decrying its offensiveness then second those same outlets advancing all the idiocy caricatured therein. For me, the worst part about the cover is that it gives all the assholes who participated in those ludicrous, fear-mongering, 'news stories' about Obama a chance to pretend that they never would do such a thing.

Which made me pay too close attention to Colbert. He interviewed someone from the Council on Foreign Relations. When talk turned to Brazil, she bemoaned now that Brazil has discovered some billion barrels of oil, they will be even less inclined to do whatever the U.S. tells them. Is that the extend of diplomacy as the CFR sees it? "Hey you, do what we say or we'll bury you! Oh crap, they have a measure of independence and can't be bullied? I'm out of ideas..."

Also, this, and especially the first two comments at the bottom.

For those of you still wondering who the Party of Death is, consider that under the Bush Administration the literal value of life fell by 11%. And when Lady de Rothschild call you elitest, you must eat jewels and crap poverty. AND and since this entry is only a list of links, here's something special just for Kiti.

Read this to find out why the recent expansions of eavesdropping powers for the federal government, and the accompanying absolution for telecoms, actually is a big deal.

As this commentary (on the revelation that the torture techniques used recently by the U.S. were copied from the Communist Chinese of the Korean War) points out, the purpose of torture is not to get information, it is to get confessions which serve the political purposes of the the torturer. One need not hold a master's degree in history to know it has always been true everywhere but on 24.

The genius of Spudlette overflows! On Saturday, she again fussed at my sudoku mistake. Then last evening, Kiti said, "Would you like to turn the page?" (referring to I love You (thanks, smarties!)) Oh, you know what she did! Bow your heads in shame, other babies!! Whoops, I'm trying to be more pleasant. Have you ever seen Harvey:
Years ago, my mother used to say to me --she'd say, 'In this world, Elwood, you must be --' She always called me Elwood. 'In this world, Elwood, you must be oh, so smart or oh, so pleasant.' Well, for years I was smart. I recommend pleasant. And you may quote me.
And so I have!

Don't see it here? Try the !
